Sabre Legal Counsel (Staff Attorney) in Remote Worker, Texas

Sabre’s Legal Department is a dynamic group responsible for providing legal advice to and assisting the Company in conducting business ethically and in compliance with laws around the world. Sabre is seeking a skilled and motivated licensed attorney to join our legal team in either the United States (ideally near our Southlake, TX headquarters) or the United Kingdom (ideally near our Richmond office). The successful applicant should be a generalist with deep knowledge of Texas or New York and/or English law and will be responsible for providing legal advice to the organization on general commercial law as a part of supporting commercial contracting for both the Americas and European Sales teams. This role will also provide ancillary support for regulatory, data privacy, intellectual property, and other areas of law specific to the technology industry. The position will report to Sabre’s VP and Associate General Counsel for Commercial Legal Support.

Role and Responsibilities

What will you achieve?

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate strategic travel agency commercial agreements in support of global business goals.

  • Advise Agency Sales and other supporting functions within the organization on complex contractual and commercial matters, as well as legal issues involving regulatory law.

  • Respond to ad hoc queries to include identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks to provide appropriate legal solutions.

  • Interpret complex business needs and translate them into clear and concise contract language to establish new contracting templates and playbooks.

  • Work with the regional and global Legal teams, including Commercial, Privacy, and Compliance & Ethics, to identify common concerns, establish common standards, and educate on best practices.

  • Support the development of processes, procedures, and tools (including contract lifecycle management tools) that effectively operationalize Legal best practices, as well as the build out and execution of any related team member training.

  • Coordinate legal matters handled by outside counsel, as needed.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Must Have Skills:

  • Law degree from a top institution.

  • Admitted to practice in the relevant jurisdiction and 4 to 8 years of legal experience, preferably in a combination of global law firm and in-house environments.

  • Deep knowledge of Texas or New York and/or English law; experience in general commercial and contract law.

  • Experience in a fast-paced, global organization; willing to be flexible and able to function with ambiguity.

  • Comfortable navigating change; willing to work irregular hours when required, as this position will support two distinct geographic areas (North America (NAM) and Europe & the Middle East (EMEA)).

  • An enterprise mindset while being able to focus on details; ensure work supports the needs of the broader business while minimizing risk.

  • Strong leadership presence and the ability to provide direction and quickly gain the confidence of business clients.

  • Practical and creative problem analysis and resolution skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and prioritize work as needed to meet business needs.

  • Highly self-motivated and committed to client service.

  • Superior command of the English language (written and spoken) required.

Nice To Have Skills:

  • Experience in the technology and/or travel industry.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with commercial contracting and/or regulatory law in NAM or EMEA.

  • Other language skills.
