PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $134,200-$164,000 annually. The full Pay Range is $104,200-$194,000 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

The role of Sr Strategic Sourcing Manager – Technology is crucial in shaping the strategic sourcing function within BECU’s Vendor Management Office (VMO). As a key member of the team, you will play an instrumental role in developing and enhancing the strategic sourcing function through process and tool development, as well as providing direct support to business owners in executing their vendor sourcing initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Sourcing Processes: Collaborate with business units to manage the competitive sourcing processes, such as Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and Request for Quote (RFQ), particularly for strategic, complex, or high-risk vendor engagements.

  • Negotiation Strategies: Partner with business units to develop and execute negotiation strategies for strategic, complex, and/or high-risk vendor engagements.

  • Sourcing Best Practices: Develop best practices and content for strategic sourcing, including templates, training, checklists, and process flows, to support a centralized sourcing approach.

  • Vendor Category Strategies: Work alongside peers in Strategic Sourcing, the VMO, and Business Units to develop vendor category strategies through spend analytics and market/vendor research to optimize BECU’s vendor portfolio, reduce spend, and drive enterprise initiatives.

  • Trusted Advisor: Serve as a trusted adviser to business units regarding vendor relationships, including planning, due diligence, commercial contract terms, vendor selection, performance monitoring, and termination.

  • Business Owner Education: Engage in socialization, communication, and education of business owners and other stakeholders to achieve buy-in and compliance with strategic sourcing governance.

  • Vendor Risk Assessment: Aid VMO peers in the vendor risk assessment and contracting process with vendor engagements, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in a business-related field.

  • Seven years of strategic sourcing/procurement experience required with expertise and focus in technology category.

  • Understanding of vendor agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, and SLAs.

  • Proficient PC skills, with an advanced knowledge and use of Excel (e.g., XLOOKUP, Pivot tables, etc.).

  • Advanced experience in developing category strategies, vendor negotiation, and vendor relationship management.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to transform data into clear and relevant information.

  • Ability to handle conflict and negotiations effectively.
