We are looking for Backend Software Engineers to join the Advanced Trading team. The team owns the suite of services powering coinbase.com/advanced-trade, Coinbase’s trading product targeted at advanced crypto users offering Spot and Derivative trading markets. The team is responsible for end-to-end order flow, and supports billions of dollars in trades.

The Advanced Trading team lives within our Consumer Product Group. The Consumer Product Group engineers strive to make the Coinbase retail app the easiest-to-use and fastest experience for accessing the crypto. Suite of products include: Coinbase app, advance trade, dapps, and staking.

What you'll be doing:

• Decompose our monolithic Rails app into microservices and build a scalable payments infrastructure

• Articulate a long term vision for maintaining and scaling our backend systems.

• Work with engineers, designers, product managers and senior leadership to turn our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter.

• Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers

What we look for in you:

• You have at least 2+ years of experience in software engineering.

• You’ve designed, built, scaled and maintained production services, and know how to compose a service oriented architecture.

• You write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.

• You’ve worked with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB or Redshift.

Nice to haves:

• You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from startup to mid-size).

• You have experience working at Fintech, payroll, or payments companies

• You have experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices.

• You’ve worked with both web and mobile.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also includetarget bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Pay Range:

$147,900—$174,000 USD
