Lead Support Specialist, Defense Programs

Job Description Summary: D&G is seeking an exceptional entry to mid-level professional with a minimum of 2+ years of government contracting experience to support D&G’s Defense Programs account. The role will include responsibilities and provide experience across the full opportunity lifecycle from opportunity identification through contract closeout. The active portfolio currently encompasses oversight of 72 personnel performing against 12 DoD contracts valued at over $73.6 million dollars; additionally, the successful candidate will strategic growth of the defense account to include management of an opportunity pipeline valued at more than $200 million dollars.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Vice President (VP) of Defense Programs in the leadership, management, and growth of D&G’s defense programs.

  • Performs against target and stretch goals for revenue, profitability, operations, growth, and human resources.

  • Manages documentation, timelines, requirements, and tracks performance in an automated dashboard to facilitate successful management and growth in Defense programs.

  • Prepares quarterly performance reviews for the VP of Defense Programs to deliver to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and Chief Operating Officer.

  • Supports the Vice President with meetings, key engagements, and communications to both internal D&G employee and external stakeholders to include government clients and industry partners.

  • Support management and retention of personnel within the Defense Portfolio to include monitoring and elevating issues related to recruiting, retention, pay, training, and other administrative support.

  • Tracks completion of all contract deliverables to support objective on 100% on-time delivery of products that exceed contract schedule and quality requirements.

  • Augments contract teams to support products and positive impact relationships with the government to help obtain evaluations of Very Good or higher.

  • Provides recommendations and implements program improvements to optimize performance against established reporting metrics.

  • Establishes repeatable, scalable, and enduring processes in accordance with D&G policy and established industry standards. (ISO, CMMI, CMMC, etc.)

  • Identifies and mitigates challenges and issues that might negatively impact performance to a DoD Program, contract, corporate finances, or reputation.

  • Supports the strategic growth of the Defense programs specifically focused on growth of existing clients accounts and captures of contracts less than $20M dollars. Supports corporate growth team for Strategic New Business (SNB) and contracts greater than $20M dollars.

  • Partners with corporate teams to support the full opportunity lifecycle to include market research, account planning, business development, capture, bid, and proposal.

  • Positively represents D&G at conferences, customer meetings, B2B and B2G engagements, and other events to support successful operations and corporate growth.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

  • One year minimum experience in government contracting

Eligibility Requirements:

US citizen, clearance eligible

Desired Skills:

  • One to three years of government experience.

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certifications (PMP or CAPM) or willingness to pursue PMI certifications.

  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to engage others.

Location:

This position is currently remote - within 25-miles of Woodbridge, VA - and will include occasional travel.
