Configuration Management Administrator

Job Overview: The Configuration Management Administrator will manage software configuration, release management, CI/CD pipeline creation, change control processes, and requirements management. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Microsoft SharePoint, and release management practices. Familiarity with containerized environments such as Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configuration and Release Management:

  • Administer software configuration management processes.

  • Manage software releases to ensure timely deployments across multiple environments.

  • Implement best practices for version control, branching strategies, and release scheduling.

  • Ensure accurate requirement tracing from initial definition through implementation and deployment.

  • CI/CD Pipeline Creation (GitHub Actions):

  • Design, create, and maintain CI/CD pipelines exclusively using GitHub Actions and the OpenShift Red Hat Container Platform.

  • Automate build, test, and deployment processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.

  • Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues promptly.

  • Release to Containerized Environments:

  • Manage deployments and releases to containerized environments such as Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift.

  • Monitor application performance within containerized clusters and troubleshoot deployment issues.

  • Work Item and Requirement Management (Azure DevOps):

  • Utilize Azure DevOps for creating work item templates, work item tracking, requirements definition, management, and traceability.

  • Maintain accurate documentation linking requirements to development tasks and deliverables.

  • Change Control Management:

  • Oversee change control processes including impact assessment, documentation of changes, approval workflows, and implementation tracking.

  • Communicate changes effectively across teams and maintain comprehensive records for audit purposes.

  • Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain clear documentation of configuration changes, release notes, requirement traceability matrices, change control records, processes, and procedures.

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies throughout the software lifecycle.

  • Child Support Program Knowledge:

  • Understanding of federal child support regulations to ensure compliance across configurations and releases.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with programmatic requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills Required:

  • Expertise in creating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps.

  • Strong experience with Microsoft SharePoint.

  • Demonstrated experience in release management practices across multiple environments including containerized deployments (Kubernetes/OpenShift).

  • Experience managing change control processes and requirement tracing

  • Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift environments.

  • Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).

  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell/Bash).

  • Child Support Program Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of child support program operations.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in software development on a large, complex automated systems development project similar in size and scope to the Wisconsin CSM Project.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience with systems analysis and design.

  • An understanding of Child Support Program objectives and requirements, federal rules and regulations governing the Child Support Program, and systems requirements.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience documenting and tracking requirements through all SDLC phases using an ALM tool.

  • A minimum of three (3) years performing code deployment activities on a large, complex automated systems development project similar in size and scope to the Wisconsin CSM Project.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Relevant certifications are preferred but not required.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail-oriented approach committed to quality assurance.

Pay Transparency Laws in some locations require disclosure of compensation-related information. For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $96,000 - $120,000.
