Senior Systems Administrator
The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining Allegion’s IT application infrastructure, ensuring its stability, security, and efficient operation. This role will involve actively being involved in the design, implementation, and maintenance of various systems, networks, and servers both in the cloud an on prem. You will act as a key point of contact for all Allegion technical requirements, administrative and operational tasks in the Dynamics AX and D365 application space for on-going implementation projects as well as sustaining support of existing deployments. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in system administration, and a deep understanding of Dynamics AX / D365 Finance and Operations, and excellent problem-solving skills.
What You Will Do :
• Manage and maintain the organizations IT cloud and on prem infrastructure, including servers, networks and operating systems and databases.
• Work with business and technical personnel to provide application architecture, design, configuration, and support with respect to Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform for CE, Project Operations, and Finance and Operations.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary fixes and optimizations.
• Manage and administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Perform system backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Work collaboratively within the IT teams to build, test, deploy, and maintain configurations using custom and industry common practices throughout multiple environments (e.g., Sandbox/DEV/QA/UAT/PROD). Conduct hands-on implementation, configuration, and development of the various components of Dynamics 365 cloud across CE, Project Operations and Finance and Operations.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Respond to incidents and events with a methodical approach to assess and troubleshoot all types of production (performance, access, accuracy, etc.) issues.
• Create applicable system-related documentation, including design specifications, procedures and application test plans, troubleshooting steps, and system admin guides for Dynamics 365 for reference and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement IT solutions that meet business requirements.
• Improve system related processes, and automate non value add activites.
• Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies, tools and methodologies to enhance system performance and efficiency.
• Support, execute, and validate deployments for ERP customizations and vendor platform updates.
• Collaborate and partner with IT leadership and functional area owners to ensure support of global standards.
What You Need to Succeed :
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator, with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics AX / D365 Finance and Operations.
• 3+ years of experience working in a large global business with diverse infrastructure.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Ability to drive change and influence without managerial authority.
• Experience managing systems that support manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of system administration tasks including operating systems, server management, networking, cyber security, and on prem and cloud infrastructure provisioning.
• Proficient in configuring and customizing D365 Finance and Operations system features and functionalities.
• Experience managing and supporting Microsoft LCS, SQL Database, IIS, MS SQL Server Reporting Services, PowerShell, and .Net Frameworks.
• Solid understanding Microsoft Dynamics related application technologies including Microsoft Document Routing Agent, Mobile warehouse solutions, Azure cloud hosting solutions, Power Platform, and Dataverse setups and considerations.
• Experience and understanding of Microsoft terminal services and Citrix is preferred.
• Experience working in SDLC for on prem and cloud-based ERPs and systems.
• Solid understanding of SOX compliance considerations and requirements.
• Experience supporting ISV solutions within the AX / D365 ecosystem is a plus, (Precision Forms, Loftware, Avalara, etc.).
• Ability to support system activities after hours and on weekends as needed.
