Job Summary

We are looking for a Global Infrastructure Solutions Manager who will be accountable for the design and implementation of Global IT Infrastructure solutions across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a global team of senior infrastructure personnel that will assist in defining and delivering IT Infrastructure solutions to the business. Within this imperative role you will also be responsible for managing external partners that provide consultancy services for infrastructure solutions and products, while actively driving global standardisation through the design and build phase of new IT Infrastructure solutions, ensuring future technologies and cloud first strategies are considered throughout the lifecycle. The succesful candidate will proactively work jointly with the Network/Infrastructure architects to ensure all solutions align with current GKN IT standards, are globalised and adhere to current vendor best practice standards. Work with the Architects to ensure that technical development/mentoring is in place for both the permanent Engineer resource pool and also seconded engineers, enhancing their knowledge and supporting their development.

This exciting role requires the Global Infrastructure Solutions manager to actively engage and work closely with both the CISO and PMO functions and the regional Data Centre managers regularly and in partnership. This role is remote, ideally you will be based close to one of our sites in the UK/ Sweeden/ Netherlands. The role will requirely quarterly travel to any on of our sites internationally.

How You'll Contribute

⦁ Responsible for the senior technical infrastructure personnel that form the IT infrastructure build team ⦁ Lead the design and standardisation of new IT infrastructure solutions across the business ⦁ Leadership and development of senior IT infrastructure personnel ⦁ Define standard working procedures ⦁ Manage external partners that provide third party professional services for our strategic vendors and products e.g. Microsoft, Dell, Cisco, Palo Alto. ⦁ Deploy industry best practice approaches and standards ⦁ Assess new technologies and industry trends to ensure the GKN Aerospace infrastructure remains fit for purpose ⦁ Ensure budget/resource requirements identified, input to relevant budgets in agreement with IT Data Centre Director. ⦁ Oversee the implementation of Key Processes supporting new deployments

What You'll Bring

Essential:

⦁ Relevant Degree or equivalent experience ⦁ ITIL Certified ⦁ 10yrs of progressive IT infrastructure / IT application experience with 3yrs+ leadership experience ⦁ Experience working in a global, high availability, high demand environment ⦁ Good verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable:

⦁ Technical certifications in Operating Systems, VMWare, etc. ⦁ Experience working in a virtual, multicultural, global environment

Experience of coordination and management of projects is highly desirable
