Job Description

The worker will be responsible for the design of hydro generator mechanical components for the South and North American market. He will also be responsible to give technical support for supply chain and site activities related to hydro generators.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions include:

As a Lead generator mechanical engineer, the worker will be responsible to:

  • Deliver design work packages for hydro generator projects using technical guidelines;

  • Collaborate with other engineering COEs (Center Of Excellence) worldwide;

  • Participate to & Launch design review meetings with other COEs and consulting Engineers.

  • Supervise the work of design engineers and draftsmen to Deliver design calculations, technical specifications, drawings and BOM’s.

  • Deliver purchase requests to supply chain.

  • Apply rules and concepts for reliability, quality, safety and cost.

  • Collaborate with and assist project engineering managers in project execution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Strong technical skills in strength of materials

  • Good knowledge of non-destructive examinations methods, materials and welding

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in generator mechanical design (stators, rotors, bearings, brackets)

  • Language : Portuguese and English

  • Pro-activeness, sense of urgency, autonomy.

  • Established communication and leadership skills;

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-locational environment;

  • Good analytical skills

  • Team player, positive, willingness to learn & adapt to business needs

  • Ability to travel

  • Knowledge of CAD tools

  • Hydro industry experience
