POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Specialist

REPORTS TO: Facilities & Maintenance Manager

LOCATION: Reedsburg, WI

SUMMARY: Provide guidance to the maintenance technicians for the operation and maintenance of the plant systems and equipment. This position works with other departments to plan, install, and start up new equipment and the removal of old equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure optimal process setup of plant systems and manufacturing equipment.

  • Assists in assigning work orders, scheduling and project management.

  • Lead the PEAK Preventative Maintenance and Lubrication system.

  • Ensure proper PM/CIL set up and completed for effectiveness per PEAK requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance and training for all Maintenance Technicians.

  • Assist with managing spare parts inventory.

  • Backup to Planner and Manager for vacation and weekend coverage.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS / EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Required: Journeyman license or technical diploma.

  • Preferred: Two-year degree in a mechanical field or an accredited Millwright apprenticeship.

  • Complete and pass required medical screening.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: Five or more years of maintenance experience in the plastic manufacturing industry.

  • Preferred: Five years of experience in a leadership position in the maintenance field in the plastic manufacturing industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member based on job duties and projects.

  • Ability to lead in a team environment maintaining sensitive and confidential information and generate innovative solutions to situations.

  • Advanced mechanical ability in all aspects of facility, and equipment maintenance.

  • Must be proficient in blue print reading and trouble shooting of mechanical operations of equipment

  • Skilled in communicating effectively (verbal, written, listening) with a variety of individuals.

  • Skilled in technical writing skills (policies, procedures, etc.)

  • Skilled in prioritizing, organizing and managing multiple projects.

  • Skilled in new product launches and new equipment installations.

  • Skilled in use of personal computer and related software applications.

  • Advanced knowledge in reading and comprehending engineering diagrams.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand/walk up to 75% of the shift

  • Lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 lbs.

  • Must be able to frequently bend and twist and have unrestricted use of upper extremities.

  • Push/Pull up to 200 pounds of force.
