  • Inventorying and mapping their entire digital estate : We help organizations gain visibility into every asset, from devices and users to permissions, data systems, and virtual machines.

  • Integrating and normalizing data : By pre-integrating security data from various sources and standardizing it, we empower customers to store, retain, and utilize security logs more efficiently and cost-effectively.

  • Addressing critical security and governance questions : We provide insights and control over security landscapes, helping customers identify existing systems and ensuring compliance with legal and corporate policies.

Using an advanced security graph powered by AI and machine learning algorithms, we enable organizations to detect patterns, uncover threats, and make informed decisions about their digital security posture in real time.

As a Senior Software Engineer , you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying this exabyte-scale platform capable of processing data across billions of streams, files, tables, and reports. You will also mentor junior engineers, guiding their projects from conception to delivery. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of large-scale data pipelines and services to support security data ingestion, normalization, and storage.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical direction, reviewing code, and ensuring best practices are followed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, security experts, and data scientists to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Optimize platform performance to handle vast amounts of data across diverse digital systems while ensuring scalability, availability, and security.

  • Drive end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality results.

  • Work on cloud-native technologies and distributed systems to build a robust, resilient, and secure platform.

  • Continuously improve the platform by leveraging new technologies and best practices in security, data governance, and cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experience building software systems, with a focus on large-scale, distributed platforms.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of experience building software systems, with a focus on large-scale, distributed platforms.

  • Proven ability to guide and mentor junior engineers, leading their projects to completion.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

  • Strong understanding of security principles and the challenges associated with securing large-scale systems.

  • Experience working with high-scale, mission-critical SaaS products, including service operations.

  • Knowledge of data processing frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop, or similar technologies.

  • Experience with security data management, logging, or monitoring solutions.

  • Expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset in delivering high-quality solutions.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in driving technical projects end to.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
