Actalent Procurement Specialist in Redmond, Washington

Job Title: Procurement SpecialistJob Description

The main function of a Procurement Specialist is to lead in determining and managing the sourcing strategy within a defined category or sub-categories. This role involves identifying and engaging with senior stakeholders, drafting any required contracts, overseeing their full execution, preparing and updating materials/reports for management, and providing sourcing and procurement advice to business areas.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and to define and implement the category strategy plans and processes for sourcing goods and services.

  • Prepare and issue RFx processes.

  • Draft, review, award, and execute contracts as needed for the assigned metro.

  • Maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of the business drivers and how they affect the business strategy.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on procurement policies, processes, and best practices.

  • Manage key sourcing activities for business projects, ensuring timely delivery and budgeting with appropriate risk management.

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key existing strategic suppliers and identify potential new partners.

  • Monitor compliance with the business's sourcing process, acting as an internal consultant for each stage in the process.

  • Develop category or sub-category strategy plans and sourcing pipelines.

Essential Skills

  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Understanding of procurement and sourcing techniques and supply chain management.

  • Experience in procurement or purchasing.

  • Experience in multimillion projects, particularly in Data Center, Industrial Construction, EPC, or Oil & Gas sectors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting, or related field.

  • 10 years of experience in procurement or a related field.

  • PMP certification is highly desirable.

  • Training in project management (4+ years).

  • Experience in project management, installation, and commissioning.

Work Environment

The work environment involves managing procurement activities for large-scale projects, including data centers and industrial constructions. The role may require interaction with various suppliers and stakeholders, ensuring adherence to procurement policies and risk management. The environment is dynamic and requires a strong focus on timely delivery, budgeting, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
