Our organization is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect to help us define, design, and build the scalable and adaptable Supply Chain platform that supports Cloud and Devices supply chains for Microsoft. The role is the key driver of change that will translate the architectural vision into reality, enabling Microsoft to adapt to a dynamic business environment. Candidates should have technical experience with cloud-based engineering and technical skills across multiple technical areas (data, modern integration patterns, ERP system preferably SAP). Besides technical skills, the ideal candidate should also have functional technical expertise in designing solutions in one or more of these domains: automation of high-tech supply chain processes and systems, sustainability/environmental social, and corporate governance (ESG), order management, procurement processes, inventory management, fulfillment and logistics management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise-level solutions that align with business objectives.

  • Drive stakeholder engagement, cross-org alignment, and key design decisions in alignment with business requirements.

  • Participate in strategic planning and architecture planning by providing current state knowledge as well as insights into the future direction.

  • Help solve large business problems at scale with technology. You will be responsible for end-to-end deliverables with a high degree of visibility .

  • Ability to strike a balance between practice solutions and alignment with the architectural vision.

  • Ability to work closely with multiple cross-org development teamsto define, select and architect products and services that require significant cross component coordination and ensure alignment with architecture standards.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.

  • Lead integration efforts between different platforms and systems.

  • Drive migration strategies to transition from legacy systems.

  • Define, influence, and evangelize a long-term technical vision/roadmap for your area.

  • Enhance and raise engineering bar on engineering standards and processes to ensure extensibility, scalability, quality, and compliance.

  • Coaching and mentorship of fellow team members. 

  • Research and stay updated with the latest industry’s best practices, and experiment with cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation.

  • Lead project development across the organizations and work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to drive development and release plans.

  • Evaluate alternative architectures and technologies that best fit the business requirements and service KPIs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 6+ years’ experience developing high scale, distributed systems in a cloud environment.

  • 6+ years as a technical engineering leader, not necessarily managing people

Other Qualifications:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software development experienceArchitecting, designing, and implementing large-scale cloud-basedsolutions.

  • 10+ years of relevant SAP or industry experience.

  • At least 5+ years of experience with large technology engagements as a Domain Expert or Enterprise Architect with a specialization in Supply Chain.

  • Prior experience with emerging technologies including AI, ML, IoT, Blockchain, Digital Twins, Traceability for Supply Chains.Also prior experience with defining north-star vision, implanting plans, and driving execution roadmaps.

  • Prior experience in Enterprise Asset Management, and “Acquire to Retire” business model.

  • Deep understanding of high-tech Supply Chain processes with demonstrated hands-on experience.Experience with Telco, Utilities processes and systems as a domain is a plus.

  • Experience in setting up EA practice and experience in Enterprise Architect (EA) frameworks e.g. TOGAF/Zachman

  • The ability to analyze complex problems and make appropriate decisions quickly and ability to drive large, complex programs and solutions.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
