Job Description Puget Sound Energy's is seeking a Senior IT application support specialist with focused experience in Distribution Management Systems (DMS). Our DMS team supports a suite of advanced applications covering Distribution SCADA (D-SCADA), Outage Management (OMS), Volt/VAR Optimization (VVO), Fault Location & Restoration (FLISR), an award-winning Virtual Power Plant (VPP), and a soon-to-be Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS). Fundamental to all IT support roles at PSE, you will build relationships with internal customers and cross-functional IT teams. However, unlike some IT roles, this position plays a direct part in the quality, resilience, and restoration of power to our customers, as well as dynamically influencing the delivery of clean energy to our communities. Because of the system criticality, this is a role that requires on-call support 24/7. As such, you will be part of a team (currently four other people) that equally shares this on-call role. This is an exciting time to join the PSE team, as our utility industry moves towards a revolution in the way we deliver and maintain power - one in which this IT will play a central role. Job Responsibilities Diagnoses complex problems, develops and implements solutions in Schneider Electric ADMS and AutoGrid VPPenvironments. Effectively understands relevant business processes so that they can be modeled in internal systems. Develops and maintains scope and objectives for internal systems requirements as defined by the organization inclusive of our ADMS and VPP modules and affected applications, to allow for programming business rules into said systems. Maintains extensive knowledge of their assigned functional area of Distribution Management Systems, active business processes, business areas, as well as industry. Performs complex and demanding tasks dealing with the analysis, design, configuration, development and implementation of solutions serving business line and functional units. Carries out detailed system design and writes functional and technical requirements/specs, develops test plans and applies testing, and quality monitoring procedures. Provides guidance to business and functional units in developing tests and training plans and materials. Provides day-to-day support to users and to junior configurators, as well as drives improved user specific user requirements. Responsible for the identification of and resolution of gaps in the business processes. Is involved in security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation. Contributes to annual and 5-year capital IT budgets. Participates at the departmental level in line organization initiatives, tactics and strategies to act as a liaison from the line organizations to IT for continued development of the internal systems. Mentors others, and monitors other business or technical analysts in project software development methods and processes and aligns these processes with project needs. Based on a solid understanding of scope and processes, can independently gather/establish business requirements of new developments to meet changing business needs.
