About Profeta Farms
Profeta Farms is a 1200-acre multifaceted certified organic livestock and vegetable farm dedicated to changing the way food is produced and distributed. We aim to produce a wide range of high quality foods so that our customers may buy the majority of their food from a single local, organic, responsible source. In the spring of 2018, Profeta Farms is planning to open a new 25,000 square-foot grocery store with a strong focus on prepared foods.

A Facilities Team Member of Profeta Farms Market will be responsible for assisting in the planning and launch, and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Department of the Market. Success in this role will be contingent upon ensuring optimal operational results in relation to all aspects of the physical plant. A Facilities Team Member will be committed to an unwavering pursuit of our “Beyond Organic” mission. Profeta’s farm products are produced with the highest level of care for our animals, our land, and conscious of our customer’s health and well-being as a central component of our practices. The Facilities Team Members are assigned responsibilities involving the care and cleaning of Profeta Farms Market.
Job Responsibilities
Report to Facilities Lead and Operations Manager
Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures
Restock cleaning, restroom, breakrooms, café and paper supplies
Execute hourly safety walks to ensure slip and fall prevention
May due light facility maintenance as needed like changing light bulbs
Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environment
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties
May oversee and/or assist with landscape activities
Dust and mop floors
Mix water and detergents in container to prepare cleaning solutions
Wash dishes, glasses, pots, pans, etc.
Clean and maintain trash, recycling and compost bins
Keep floors clean, free of spills, food, trash and other obstacles.
Organize and maintain storage of all chemicals, paper supplies, cleaning supplies, cleaning equipment and dishware.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
Affinity for local food and sustainable agriculture; a match for our values
At least 1 year of relevant experience of facilities maintenance program or team
Knowledge of food products and retail operations
Experience with supporting workplace safety culture and facilities infrastructure
Patience with teaching and mentoring employees
Ability to provide and receive feedback with team members in a constructive way
Flexibility in rotating working shifts, including some holidays, as needed by the business
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Strong personal and professional references
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position
Physical Requirements
Lift or move up to 50 pounds, unassisted
Carry, kneel, bend, and stand for long periods of time
Compensation: Based on experience. Competitive base salary plus upside based on financial performance of market and successful utilization of Profeta Farms products. Benefits include PTO, medical insurance, life insurance, and a stipend of food from the farm.
