Dairy Farmers of America Maintenance Technician - 3rd shift in Reading, Pennsylvania

Job Description

Looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician.

  • Knowledge of heating systems, refrigeration, basic electricity, and mechanics.

  • Able to read electrical schematics, reset breakers, test fuses, install & alight a pump, and understand basic rigging.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of production and processing equipment as well as utility related equipment in compliance with all safety procedures

  • Support the installation of new equipment, support and implementation of preventive maintenance program

  • Assist the machine operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime

  • Ensure all repairs are documented

  • Keep management informed of any maintenance issues

  • Complete work orders as assigned

  • Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive

  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

  • Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment

  • Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity

  • Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)

  • Work schedule includes on call and weekend shifts

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • General mechanical and maintenance knowledge - must be able to pass appropriate maintenance testing

  • 4 years of process manufacturing environment maintenance work experience required.

  • Certification and/or License -- 2 year formal mechanical and/ or electrical education certificate preferred

Pay Range $31.00/ hour
