Dairy Farmers of America Maintenance Technician - 3rd shift in Reading, Pennsylvania
Job Description
Looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician.
Knowledge of heating systems, refrigeration, basic electricity, and mechanics.
Able to read electrical schematics, reset breakers, test fuses, install & alight a pump, and understand basic rigging.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of production and processing equipment as well as utility related equipment in compliance with all safety procedures
Support the installation of new equipment, support and implementation of preventive maintenance program
Assist the machine operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime
Ensure all repairs are documented
Keep management informed of any maintenance issues
Complete work orders as assigned
Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)
Work schedule includes on call and weekend shifts
Requirements
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
General mechanical and maintenance knowledge - must be able to pass appropriate maintenance testing
4 years of process manufacturing environment maintenance work experience required.
Certification and/or License -- 2 year formal mechanical and/ or electrical education certificate preferred
Pay Range $31.00/ hour
