Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aProduction Supervisorto join theData Center Power & Control Division Teamin Reading, UK.This position will direct the work of, support and supervise a team of frontline employees within the production Area.

What Will You Do?

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain high employee morale.

  • Mentor and coach department employees.

  • Models high standards of conduct and leadership.

  • Ensures that employees are utilizing materials properly and effectively.

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all departments of the organization.

  • Directs the departmental work schedule while utilizing various systems.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all output built meets departmental standards of safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, 5S and budgetary (tools, scrap, etc.) goals.

  • Responsible for all reporting requirements within the department and any other requests by management.

  • Ensure the team is trained to be successful in current role and make recommendations for any professional development employees may need.

  • Evaluate and make recommendations on hiring decisions.

  • Identifies individual performance opportunities and make recommendations for improvement while ensuring implementation of those improvements.

  • Writes and delivers performance appraisals and makes recommendations for merit increases.

  • Manages employee staffing levels and adjust as needed when last minute call offs occur or priorities change, escalate as needed.

  • Coordinate with Quality Technician for engineering updates and employee training.

    Additional Duties:

  • Cross training to work in other functional departments of the plant.

  • Ability to work all shifts, as needed.

  • Take part in OT rotation.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Associate’s Degree preferred.

  • 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience preferred.

  • 5 years of manufacturing experience preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to run reports, effectively present information and respond to questions.

  • Ability to learn ERP and other systems.

  • Ability to use MS Outlook, Word and Excel proficiently.

  • Ability to coordinate a team and implement departmental initiatives.

  • Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs and Travelers.

  • Working knowledge of quality control systems and inventory flow/control.

  • Skilled at multi-tasking, prioritizing and great organizational skills.

  • Capability to identify, write, and perform corrective action issues.

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Concepts preferred.

    Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where, in certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 25KG.
