Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC Chief Engineer in Raymond, Ohio
Act as Technical Leader for Meter/Cluster development & Validation for mass production. Design and develop Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Infotainment-related parts including meters and others. Facilitate the preparation of mass production by instructing local staff and transferring advanced knowledge in HMI technologies. Identify technical issues, improve the existing development processes, set forth and implement the development rules and procedures, and take the lead in software and circuit development for next generation models. Supervise 9 subordinate engineers (each holding title of Asst Mgr, Software & System Test Engineering; Software & System Test Sr. Principal Engineer; Software & System Test Sr. Engineer; or Software & System Test Engineer) and transfer expertise in meter function design and development for multinational company's U.S. operations. Coordinate with multinational parent company's in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) platform and HMI development group to apply, among others, a Thin Film Transistor meter application to the above referenced models. 10% travel to unanticipated domestic and international locations is required.
*Requirements: *Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 8 yrs relevant professional exp inc. 8 yrs exp leading systems, processes, & challenges in Automotive development; 5 yrs exp overseeing and providing technical leadership for unit hardware & software development & integration activities for the division; 8 yrs exp setting software & hardware testing guidelines and framework; 8 yrs exp adapting global technology strategies in Meter & Display components for multinational automotive company to tactical plans at regional level & maintaining close communication with headquarters; 8 yrs exp overseeing & leading technical & pricing negotiations with suppliers including potential & new supplier selections; 8 yrs exp overseeing, directing, & setting requirements for technical outputs in Meter & Displays technology; 8 yrs exp in maintaining understanding of current technologies & exploring future opportunities in Meter & Displays technology; 5 yrs exp in planning, managing, & organizing resources within short/medium timescales within overall policy framework for multinational automotive company; 5 yrs exp in translating high level strategies and direction into clear tactical plans and directing subordinates to effectively achieve goals in Meter and Displays technology in accordance with broader organizational mission; 8 yrs exp using common electrical testing equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, ESD equipment, etc.); & 5 yrs exp in project management.
