OVERVIEW
Drive the service requirements for all new product development as well as the product introduction into the US market. Working with Service upstream marketing to understand the business requirements as well as driving the serviceability technical requirements into engineering and R/D teams. Working with the Service enterprise solution group, to create and deliver innovative Service solutions to the market place. Responsible for the BU ownership for CIRB/GCIRB action items.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and manage corrective action plans for installed base and new products.
Perform in a cross-functional role to ensure good engineering practices are followed in accordance with Canon policies.
Drive process improvements through documented business plans; including return on investment (ROI) estimates.
Proactively drive process improvements throughout the Service and Product Engineering environments.
Participate in the global strategic planning of new product serviceability, productivity tools and processes for Service and other global Service businesses.
Develop Service business models for individual Canon products (i.e., cost trend analysis, MTBF, MTTR, MTTD, Part Strategy, Life Cycle Planning, and CMSU market requirements).
Manage modality specific Service business cost reduction initiatives for one or more modalities; while monitoring product Service costs to ensure that development and final product cost targets are being met.
Lead technical communications between concerned departments for critical issues related to design, performance and service. Communications include verbal as well as detailed written reports.
Interact with global service design teams from other Canon companies to develop global deployment plans for each new medical imaging product design, InnerVision platform/product updates, any service related productivity tools and process improvements.
Participate in the development and integration of all software, hardware, firmware, documentation, testing and product deployment from a products conception through confirmed attainment of product CTQ (critical to quality) goals.
Provide project leadership and establish schedules for departmental deliverables.
Develop product or modality specific content for Functional and Architectural System Design Requirement Specifications (SDRS) through global and cross functional group interaction. Includes Canon's existing and future medical imaging products and numerous Service tools.
Interact with the training department to determine where new product will be tested, who will need to be trained, the level of technical training required for new products, and the required documentation and tools needed for supporting the training program.
Interface with Service to provide escalation process support during new product launches.
Product serviceability knowledge expert and member of the InnerVision Core Development Team for respective modality. Work with Service Technology Development organization to provide functional requirements, product expertise, and conduct Service validation testing for the rollout of new InnerVision software and hardware solutions.
Manage and develop sustaining engineering activities as CMSU liaison for product issues resolution.
Coordinate implementation and communication of product changes/enhancements. (FMI completion reports, Beta testing completion tracking, and new product introduction through front line service plans)
Provide technical expertise in the development of service tools and service training.
Aid, technically, with Regulatory Affairs to resolve complaints and MDR's.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledgeable in the use of desktop PCs and Microsoft Office tools.
Practical experience creating and using standard project management tools (e.g., GANT charts, PERT charts, task lists with dependencies, identifying critical path)
Ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships in a multi-cultural environment.
Outstanding and demonstrated written and verbal communications skills, with knowledge of engineering documentation standards and methods.
Previous technical support or field service experience demonstrating exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Exposure to business metrics measurement and analysis methods.
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
Ability to perform 100% remote work.
4 Year / Bachelor's Degree Engineering degree or equivalent experience in the medical imaging industry.
4 years Experience in an engineering environment with emphasis in systems level engineering design or engineering project management.
Project management experience is preferred to have been in an environment with multiple, simultaneous projects.
Min. $110,700 base to max $178,200 plus performance incentive with upside potential.
