Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Raleigh, North Carolina

Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in the non-profit industry based in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and will involve a variety of accounting functions including account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial data

• Perform balance sheet reconciliation tasks and address any discrepancies

• Maintain and update the general ledger on a regular basis

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial reporting and analysis tasks

• Operate accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for various accounting operations

• Apply knowledge of non-profit fund accounting in day-to-day tasks

• Manage grant accounting processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements • Proven experience in a Sr. Accountant role within the Non-Profit industry

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Extensive knowledge of general ledger and journal entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in month-end close procedures

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software

• Expertise in fund accounting specific to non-profit organizations

• Knowledge of grant accounting

• A certified public accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification is preferred

• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A strong ethical framework and professional integrity

• A degree in accounting or finance is required

• An ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
