Oracle Senior Manager of Data Science in Raleigh, North Carolina

The Background

Oracle’s Fusion Applications group is designing and building the next-gen deployment platform for its suite of software products. We focus on transforming how Software Developers and DevOps engineers build cloud applications for enterprise customers. Our team is building new AI-powered services to improve developer productivity and automate the process of running cloud services. We will build Agent-powered applications to surface the right information at the right time, and agent-powered runbooks to automatically diagnose and remediate service issues

You will support a team of intelligent, motivated, and diverse people and lead them in doing their best work. You will have the autonomy and support to do your best work using modern backend technologies, including LangGraph/LangChain, CrewAI, open-source LLMs, Kubernetes, Terraform, and more.

Our team is fully remote. We currently have members spread across the US, India and Europe. We practice scrum and leverage Slack and Zoom heavily for day-to-day communication.

The Role

As a Senior Manager of Data Science, you will be responsible hiring a team that can successfully tackle all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to coding, testing, CI/CD, and operational support. A successful candidate will bring a strong focus on our customers, well as hands-on experience as a technologist, as well as success leading Data/AI teams.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent related field experience

  • Expertise software engineering skills

  • Ten years of professional software engineering experience with at least two as a people manager

  • Experience in leading the design and implementation of AI-powered services and applications and data pipelines.

  • Hands-on experience or interest in AI frameworks such as LangGraph/LangChain and CrewAI.

Responsibilities

As a manager of the team, you will

  • Hire, mentor, and support a high-performing Data/AI team.

  • Lead/facilitate engineering design and obsess about customers.

  • Build production systems that improve developer productivity and automate the work of running systems with a focus on LLMs and generative AI technologies.

  • Be a technical leader and establish culture, as well as mentor other engineers.

  • Design, implement, and launch data pipelines to clean and ingest data from various internal sources

  • Design and curate datasets and train/finetune models.

  • Design experiments, test them on users, analyze.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
