About the role:

As a CBRE Labor and Employment Law Paralegal, you'll provide legal support services to the Labor and Employment Legal Team attorneys in the form of basic legal research, drafting of legal and business communications, and general file management.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely.

What you'll do:

  • Assist attorneys with a broad range of employment law matters including, but not limited to, recruitment and hiring, compensation and benefits, wage and hour laws, leaves of absences, accommodations, discrimination and harassment, performance management and discipline, termination of employment, workplace safety and government audits.

  • Provide legal and litigation support by assisting attorneys with research, collecting and reviewing documents for production, and managing case files.

  • Assist with monitoring EEOC charges, OSHA matters, state agency inquiries, and settlement demands and tracking outcomes.

  • Manage the maintenance and filing of records, cost reporting, and other periodic reporting.

  • Prepare and manage legal holds.

  • Create presentations for trainings and other matters managed by the Labor and Employment Legal Team.

  • Coordinate meetings, witness interviews, and other activities.

  • Prepare quarterly litigation reports.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Associate of Arts Degree and a minimum of 2 years of litigation paralegal experience with a law firm or corporate legal department.

Certification in Paralegal studies or comparable combination of education and training.

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.

Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.

Strong background and experience of a variety of software, including MS Office Suite, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be able to create charts and graphs. Must have general knowledge and experience with the Internet.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Paralegal position is $70,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Paralegal position is $80,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
