Job Summary
As an IT Asset Management and Policy Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining asset lifecycle information.
Job Description
We are looking for an IT Asset Management and Policy Specialist to implement and maintain asset lifecycle information, track and report on hardware and software assets, and coordinate with procurement to create policies and procedures related to purchasing. This role will also involve continuously evaluating and improving asset management policies and procedures. This position will be full-time and remote.
What You’ll Do
Inventory Control: Maintain and update inventory records to ensure the accuracy and availability of assets. Conduct regular audits to verify asset status and resolve discrepancies.
Service Ticket Management: Manage the work queue for IT Service Management (ITSM) related services, ensuring service requests are tracked and closed in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
End User Communication: Act as the primary contact for end users regarding asset inquiries, providing guidance and support for device-related issues.
Device Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of devices, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal. Continuously evaluate and improve asset management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
Warranty Management: Track and manage warranties for hardware assets, coordinating with vendors for repairs or replacements as necessary.
Licensing Management: Monitor and manage software licenses to ensure compliance and optimize usage. Facilitate renewals and address licensing issues proactively.
Procurement: Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to procure necessary assets and services, ensuring cost-effective purchasing that aligns with organizational needs.
Microsoft 365 Management: Administer and manage Microsoft 365 products and services, including user accounts, licenses, and security settings. Provide support for related applications and services.
Reporting: Generate and present reports on asset status, usage, and performance to stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations for improvements.
What You’ll Need
Required:
3+ years proven experience in IT Asset Management.
3+ years of experience in writing and implementing policies and procedures in ITAM platform.
Strong understanding of device and software management, including Microsoft 365.
Excellent communication skills for effective end-user interactions.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
Proficient in inventory management tools and software.
Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
Familiarity with licensing management tools and practices.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Freshservice ITSM experience.
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards.
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor.
