Job Description:

Are you an aspiring engineer eager to kickstart your career in piping stress engineering? Join our team as an Associate Design Engineer I and gain hands-on experience while contributing to exciting projects. This role involves performing work that requires advanced knowledge, predominantly intellectual in character, and routinely exercising discretion and judgment. You'll acquire essential skills and knowledge through specialized instruction and practical experience.

In this position, you'll apply established practices and guidelines to design engineering principles. You'll support the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects, performing routine scope engineering assignments and specific, limited portions of engineering tasks. Your work will help promote Fluor’s competitiveness in the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engineering Calculations: Perform and check routine calculations, specify simple equipment, and solve problems of simple engineering complexity.

• Vendor Documentation: Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution.

• Support Lead Engineers: Assist Lead Engineers in developing estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantity tracking reports.

• Change Management: Identify deviations in job scope, estimate the magnitude of changes, and initiate trends or change orders.

• 3D Modeling: Perform 3D piping layout and equipment modeling in areas of lighter complexity. Produce basic piping drawings, including plot plans, piping plans, isometrics, and sketches.

• Procurement Activities: Assist in the review of vendor lists, preparation of quotation requests, bid tabulations, purchase orders, and considerations for technical acceptability.

• Health and Safety: Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design.

• Interdisciplinary Interface: Interface with other discipline functions to ensure cohesive project execution.

• Quality Assurance: Deliver quality work and adhere to the Operating System Requirements (OSR). Execute project work in accordance with approved Activity Plans.

• Compliance: Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.

• Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to and promote the use of Fluor’s knowledge management portals and communities.

• Training and Development: Participate in Fluor University® programs and the mentoring program for personal development.

• Global Engagement: Engage with Fluor’s global community, promoting a OneFluor mindset. Support the Functional Process Lead and Department Manager on initiatives.

• Brand Promotion: May promote company branding through active participation in external technical organizations.

• Problem Solving: Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organizational and project objectives.

• Project Management: Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and tasks effectively, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality.

• Policy Adherence: Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards. Adhere to and support Fluor's HSE Policies.

• Core Skills Development: Effectively develop and apply core skills to the job.

• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
