Our Company's Industrial Hygiene Laboratory group within the Safety Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking a highly motivated individual who is looking for an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment that requires a high degree of technical expertise. Under technical and administrative direction, the position carries out work conceiving, designing, planning, and implementing Industrial Hygiene method development and validation work for novel pharmaceutical compounds.

The Senior Chemist will oversee the daily operation of the IH Laboratory method development activities. This includes but not limited to interfacing with our Company's Research & Development, Industrial Hygiene professionals and third-party contract research organizations (CROs), performing method development and validations (MDV) for active pharmaceutical ingredients per internal protocols, and overseeing the MDV work for a team of chemists. The Senior Chemist will be the subject matter expert (SME) for all IH MDV projects.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills in developing low level detection methods for small molecules and biologically derived molecules. The candidate must be well versed in a wide range of analytical techniques such as LC/MS/MS, LC/MS, LC-UV, LC-FLD, and ELISA.

A high level of innovation and creativity are necessary to adapt to the evolving pipeline. A high level of self- initiative, attention to detail, and ownership along with the ability to plan and organize team activities are expected. In addition, the candidate must be able to adjust and pivot resources based on changing priorities.

Successful candidates will be required to communicate regularly, clearly, and with confidence as they discuss status, technical problems, and timelines with both MIHL management and our clients.

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • The position requires either a BS and/or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or comparable degree from an accredited college/ university and 5 years of relevant experience in analytical chemistry techniques and MDV activities or a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or comparable degree from and accredited college/university with at least 3 years of relevant work experience and post PhD defense.

Required:

  • Strong background and extensive hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as Ultrahigh/High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC/HPLC), Mass Spectrometry (MS and MS/MS), and ELISA.

  • Direct experience in developing analytical techniques and understanding equipment for pharmaceutical method development and analyses.

  • Hands on experience in analysis and development of methods for biologically derived molecules such as enzymes, antibodies, peptides, and lipids.

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability

  • Highly effective communication and collaboration skills

  • Good organizational, interpersonal, writing, and time management skills

  • Project Management skills and experience using project management tracking tools

Preferred:

  • Industrial hygiene knowledge and experience with either sample collection and/or sample analysis methods.

  • Passion for keeping our workers safe

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Scientific supervisory experience

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Expected US salary range:

$94,300.00 - $148,500.00
