HealthFitness has a new full-time opportunity for an experienced Program Manager at our large client site located in Racine.

Program Manager, Racine, WI

An integral part of the onsite leadership team with personnel management, operations, & administrative responsibilities.

As Program Manager, you will manage and direct personnel and program delivery aspects of a multi-location & multi-functional single client program ensuring the highest level of participation, results achievement, and customer satisfaction. You'll collaborate to oversee contract compliance, strategic business planning, budget adherence, staffing, programs, and operations. You'll also implement the group exercise class schedule and may instruct individual and group fitness programs. In the pool area, you'll help manage aquatics programming. This role reports to the onsite General Manager and oversees 40+ part-time associates.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with HealthFitness policies, procedures and applicable laws including recruiting, orienting, training, evaluating, developing and planning the succession of associates. Plans, assigns and directs work assignments to ensure staff remain challenged and productivity is maximized. Provides development opportunities to promote and encourage career growth.

  • Ensures all staff is properly trained and holds appropriate certifications necessary for safe and effective program delivery. Provides continuous feedback and coaching to ensure quality of all programs and services being delivered. Conducts formal performance appraisals on an annual basis and initiates formal corrective action process when warranted.

  • Leads regular individual and group staff meetings to ensure associates are informed about HealthFitness, client and program events, initiatives and status.

  • General oversight and management of Fitness Centers operations. Submits employment forms, payroll records and billing worksheets accurately and according to contract provisions and HealthFitness policies.

  • Helps to develop and implement the yearly strategic business plan to identify contract deliverables, program/ service offerings and initiatives, targeted outcomes and marketing strategy to meet client objectives.

  • Helps prepare and manage site/departmental operating budget. Ensures expenditures are made in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

  • Develops outcomes focused programs to meet client objectives. Interfaces with client company management and peripheral departments.

  • Tracks participant and program data for measurement of individual and program goal achievement, outcomes and results. Creates outcomes focused management reports based on the identified business plan goals and objectives.

  • Collaboratively leads program implementation, health education activities, motivational programs and special events. Coordinates marketing and communications to maximize program engagement, bringing in HealthFitness Corporate support as appropriate.

  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

What you'll bring:

  • 1-3 years related industry experience & the ability to lead employees while managing and operating a robust fitness, aquatic, and recreation program.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Current Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute.

  • Industry recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT, or NETA required within 90 days of hire.

  • ARC Lifeguard certification required within 90 days of hire.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others. Must be able to organize and prioritize work demands.

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.

  • Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.
