Commercial Feed Sales Specialist - West & Central Michigan - Remote

This role is remote, but we need this person within the territory of Western or Central Michigan.

We are seeking a qualified sales leader for our West & Central Michigan territories. This position will provide sales & technical leadership to customers within the region. This position reports to the Commercial Sales Manager. Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Develop strategic business plan to grow and expand distribution within the territory

  • Regularly meet with customers, partners, and prospects to bring new strategic and proprietary innovative products to their marketplace.

  • Coordinate with our technical team to provide top line nutritional solutions

  • Develop and execute a marketing strategy focused on growing marketing share of existing accounts.

  • Achieve revenue, tonnage, market share, and product mix targets as directed for assigned listings and sales groups.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree (or applicable related experience)

  • Industry knowledge, working knowledge of proper management and feeding practices, and strong agriculture business aptitude

  • Prior sales experience and a proven track record developing new accounts is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong time management and administrative skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Effective presentation skills

  • Computer knowledge with Microsoft Office Applications and the ability to become proficient in feed formulation/ration balancing using ration balancing software

  • Travel – overnight travel will average 6 to 8 nights per month

  • Must reside within the territory, be comfortable with on-farm conditions (i.e. working around cattle, farm machinery, etc.), have a valid driver’s license, withstand automobile confinement to serve geographic area, and occasionally lift feed bags up to 50 lbs.
