The Opportunity

We are looking for Application Security Specialist who will be directly reporting to the Manulife ETS Cyber Assessment Application Security Team. Our group is consisting of highly motivated and experienced professionals and is composed of members located across different Manulife locations such as Manila and North America. As part of the ETS Global Cyber Security, we are responsible for the practice of identifying, classifying, monitoring, remediating and/or mitigating security vulnerabilities on applications and APIs across the organization.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT Security, other related field or any equivalent experience.

  • At least 3 years' experience in Information Technology, Information Security, or Vulnerability Assessment.

  • Good understanding on Application security especially in Open source vulnerabilities, SAST and DAST tools

  • Hands on experience in managing Snyk and Burp Suite with an understanding of the DevSecOps pipeline process

  • Prior experience on Brup Suite operation and vulnerability management would be an advantage.

  • Passion in cybersecurity

  • Knowledge on IT security Operations, IT Operations, IT Network/Infrastructure, Information Security, Business Continuity Management, Network Security and Design, Advanced Networking/TCPIP

  • Innovative problem-solving skills with the proven ability to exercise flexibility and judgment

  • Ability to work on a fast pace environment and be able to multitask

  • Ability to automate the vulnerability data management and reporting process using scripting languages (Python, Perl, Unix Shell, VBA)

On the job you will:

  • Triage discovered vulnerability to ensure that most critical vulnerabilities are addressed

  • Analyze and respond to unknown or previously detected vulnerabilities

  • Assist in Snyk findings and platform operations likes of access controls, reviewing issues

  • Troubleshoot Burp Suite scanning issues and optimize scan performance

  • Automate the vulnerability management process to improve operation efficiency

  • Coordinate with VM Lead and other concerned units to ensure that identified vulnerabilities are assessed and remediated

  • Configure the Burp Suite vulnerability scanner and ensure that scans are scheduled and performed accordingly

  • Manage Burp Suite reports for the vulnerability management team

  • Provide analysis of vulnerabilities to other team members to assist with overall vulnerability remediation efforts

  • Conduct research and attend training on common attack routes, new cyber security threats, trends and technologies
