U.S. Marine Corps INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST in Quantico, Virginia

Responsibilities You will provide technical expertise in support of weapons systems/equipment to meet manpower, personnel, and training needs of Marine Corps operators and maintainers. You will advise personnel on strategy and acquisition of life-cycle manpower, personnel, and training solutions. You will design and develop proposals, methods, and procedures to complete complex design or redesign programs. You will prepare manpower, personnel, and training portion of Statements of Work and tailoring Data Item Descriptions for Contract Data Requirements Lists. You will prepare and brief status of the program's manpower, personnel and training plan to the Competency Lead or other lead evaluators to develop program reviews or Independent Logistics Assessments. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-2 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical expertise and management required in support of weapons systems/equipment by performing manpower, personnel and training program planning and resourcing and advising program managers and program team personnel on strategy and acquisition life-cycle manpower, personnel, and training solutions. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education BASIC REQUIREMENTS: You must possess a degree that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas: Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material. Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness. Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments. Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training. Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
