Washington State Job Bank Event Center Coordinator in Pullman, Washington
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for an Event Center Coordinator to join our event center team to coordinate high-quality events for both internal and external customers. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, experience in successfully planning and executing events or other operational logistics, attention to detail, willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and collaborate well with others. As an Event Center Coordinator, a typical day might include the following: * Coordinating reservation logistics for small and medium-sized SEL events. * Coordinating small and medium-sized external facility rentals. * Providing support to the event center team for high-profile events. * Maintaining positive relationships with event caterers and vendors. * Professionally interacting with both internal and external customers. * Owning communication and tasks for Friday Lunch meals in Pullman. * Working productively and cooperatively in a team environment. * Following established processes to complete assigned projects. This job might be for you if you: * Minimum of one year experience managing and/or coordinating events * Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed * Strong organizational, project management, team communication, writing, and time management skills * Excellent phone etiquette, professionalism, and communication skills * Expertise with Microsoft Office applications especially SharePoint and Excel * Ability to learn concepts, technical details, and basic operation of equipment * Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities * Ability to work independently with key-holder and strict security responsibilities Preferred Qualifications * B.S. in Hospitality Business Management, Event Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management and/or Communications * Experience with state-of-the art audio/visual equipment * Knowledge of food safety and general law knowledge * Experience with Microsoft Visio Physical Requirements * Lift, push, pull and maneuver up to 40 pounds frequently * Sit and/or stand 4-8 hours Location Pullman, WA- This position is located in Pullman, WA.
