Metriguard Technologies Inc. Electronics Assembly Technician in Pullman, Washington
Metriguard Technologies, Inc., a division of Raute Corporation located in Nastola, Finland. Raute designs and manufactures electronic and mechanical equipment for testing and grading wood products including dimension lumber and veneer for structural wood products. This equipment is used worldwide by sawmills, wood products companies and research facilities. Wood product manufacturers can maximize profit by using Raute equipment to measure physical properties of lumber and veneer and then grade or sort that material so it goes to the best end use.
LOCATION
Raute Pullman employs 25 people at our modern office and manufacturing facility in Pullman, Washington. Pullman is a city of 35,000 people located in the beautiful rolling wheat fields of eastern Washington about 70 miles south of Spokane, Washington. The city of Pullman is home to Washington State University and is 7 mile away from Moscow, Idaho and the University of Idaho.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced electronic assembly work including board prep, soldering, desoldering, component replacement, touch-up, and prototype assembly.
- Work with electronic components (resistors, diodes, capacitors, connectors) on circuit boards. Attention to detail is key and requires knowledge of those component level parts to reduce quality errors.
- Demonstrate a proficiency of skills to perform consistently above average quality of work in a timely fashion.
- Under limited supervision, may use methods, drawings, prints, schematics, or written work instructions to inspect, assemble, modify, rework, disassemble or reassemble deliverable or prototype hardware.
- Perform intermediate assembly work to include tinning, component forming, harness prep, manual component insertion and cleaning associated with the assembly of electronic components and mechanical assemblies, ESD and safety issues, housekeeping, and timesheets.
- Interface with and communicate to Engineering regarding the best assembly practice to as it relates to proto-types and production assembly.
- Setting up, configuring and metworking and array of different production computers and electronics.
- Provide feedback to Management and Engineering regarding the adequacy of selected components and hardware for the assembly process in an effort to improve manufacturability.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years of education or experience in electronic or electro-mechanical related assemblies
- SMT and through hole soldering experience
- Soldering certification and an associate degree in electronics technology is an asset.

Other information
This is a full-time position. Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; other hours as required. There may occasionally be additional hours during travel to various customer locations for machinery installation and service. Compensation is dependent on qualifications and experience, and, after a 90-day provisional period, includes vacation and medical benefits.
