Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a local government office in Pueblo, Colorado. This is a contract position that will require in-office work. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate records and ensuring smooth operations within the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

• Perform high-volume data entry tasks to process and maintain records for local business accounts.

• Review and resolve account discrepancies by cross-referencing documents and ensuring accuracy.

• Post transactions to appropriate accounts and verify all supporting documentation is complete.

• Communicate with vendors to confirm required documents are provided and accurate.

• Manage incoming calls and provide exceptional customer service to address inquiries.

• Organize and maintain physical and digital files to ensure accessibility and compliance.

• Assist in updating and editing records to align with department requirements.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure deadlines and project goals are met. Requirements • Proficiency in data entry with a focus on accuracy and speed.

• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to handle inquiries professionally.

• Experience managing multiple phone lines in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with filing systems and document organization.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and correct errors.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Previous experience in an accounting or administrative role preferred.
