Position Summary

Senior Manager - Information Governance and Privacy Operations leads a team that is responsible for the Assurance function for the enterprise Privacy Office. The Information Governance and Privacy Operations Assurance team is responsible for ensuring that CVS Health, including corporate and all business segments and divisions across the company, has strong best practices and policies in place for using, accessing, and disclosing competitively sensitive information, protected health information and personally identifiable information (collectively “Confidential Information”).

Priority functions of this role are to help drive strategy for our information governance and privacy operations assurance program as well as ensure appropriate implementation of governance standards which govern the flow of data and information between CVS Health business units. This individual will lead the team responsible for managing the compliance program that will ensure the combined enterprise has appropriately operationalized our obligations under applicable laws, our Enterprise Antitrust Firewall Policy and Business Unit Implementation Standards, client contracts and obligations set forth in several of the regulatory orders approving the acquisition of Aetna. These obligations are applicable to CVS Health corporate and all business segments (including Front Store, Retail Pharmacy, PBM Mail, Specialty, Care Plus, Coram, Omnicare, Minute Clinic, SilverScript, Medicare D, Aetna, etc.). This leader will be responsible for engaging cross-functional leaders across the enterprise, including IT Architecture, Internal Audit, Privacy, Digital, Information Security, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure that integration activities and our future combined enterprise have adequate procedures, controls, policies, systems, training, and communications to facilitate compliance with our data governance and firewall commitments.

The Senior Manager of Information Governance and Privacy Operations will be responsible for overseeing development of an annual Assurance plan for these activities so that each Assessment Area is audit-ready and that risks and gaps have been assessed and identified. This individual will also be responsible for presenting results to the leaders of Legal, Information Architecture, Compliance, Analytics, and Internal Audit and will routinely interact with SVP and VP level leaders on these teams, among others.

Additional responsibilities will also include providing advice and consultation to Business Unit leaders on an ad hoc basis, facilitating review of business initiatives for compliance with standards and policies applicable to Confidential Information, and making recommendations on process or system changes. The Senior Manager must have very strong knowledge of our information architecture, data governance strategy, privacy and information security requirements, the obligations created by regulatory approvals for the Aetna transaction as well as antitrust requirements.

-Knowledge of privacy, security and data governance standards and commitments, applicable to CVS Health and its various business segments, and the ability to analyze and identify non-compliant practices and activities.

-Ability to make sound recommendations that achieve compliance objectives and relevant to the underlying business unit.

-Team Management Skills, must be able to manage and motivate a group of individuals to drive for solutions.

-Prioritization - must be able to understand the impact of non-compliance and prioritize work for the team and the business.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of Privacy and/or audit experience.

Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

CISA, IAPP certification, or relevant certification.

Education

Bachelors degree required or equivalent years of related experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$67,900.00 - $182,549.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
