Position Summary

The Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) organization is going through an important evolution to enable more reliable and consistent delivery of medicines to patients faster. This evolution includes elements that will help elevate its current operations to be best in class and differentiate them as a competitive advantage for the future. As part of the evolution, the Strategy & Business Excellence organization is responsible for accelerating GPS with systems of excellence across disciplines related to digital, strategy, operational excellence, business development and risk management.

Reporting to the ED, GPS Business Process & Governance Excellence. The position will work closely with SBE LT Sponsors, will lead significant projects related to GPS strategic initiatives and will partner across SBE pillars, BI&A and IT.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead workstreams or initiatives that provide insight and direction for key strategic GPS initiatives.

  • Independently lead the projects to completion by brainstorming with project teams, and analyze solutions to problems and develop initial hypothesis, frameworks, and methodologies.

  • Direct small project and cross-functional teams of colleagues with various levels of experience, coaching and developing them to build capability and performance and help develop further the GPS talent pool.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to drive analysis of complex sets of data and business processes.

  • Support creation of project communications to drive engagement of key stakeholders and adoption of recommendations and solutions.

  • Establish strong partnerships and effective communication channels with GPS functions and OpUs to understand their needs and ensure solutions align with their requirements.

  • Create an engaging and inclusive work environment where team members are encouraged to collaborate and develop.

  • Drive and enable the development of tools and capabilities within our SBE Systems of Excellence, by capturing knowledge gained from initiatives into repeatable playbooks and trainings.

  • Bring structured problem-solving methodologies and consultative skills to help solve complex business problems.

Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in strategy development and/or strategic initiatives, (experience in pharma or life sciences preferred)

  • Demonstrated substantial project leadership, managing small teams of cross-functional colleagues.

  • Enthusiasm and energy to help transform organizations, with tenacity/perseverance for leading change.

  • Must be self-motivated, collaborative and an independent self-starter with the ability to effectively think strategically, drive performance, foster relationships and build alignment.

  • Proficient at driving organizational change and modeling adoption of new practices.

  • Understands and adept at translating market and competitive dynamics into strategic implications for business units.

  • Effectively works with complex information and distill it into a framework that helps facilitate decision making.

  • Experience driving cross-functional projects in a global matrix organization.

  • Excellent communication, story-telling and presentation skills.
