Global Services EMEA is the Johnson & Johnson Shared Service Center located in Europe, providing reliable financial services to J&J affiliates across the EMEA region. We are currently seeking a SC Synthes Senior GL Accountant to join one of the Finance Teams within the scope of MedTech Financial Services.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare day-to-day general ledger activities, including journal entries, clearings, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

  • Complete timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording and classification of financial transactions.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

  • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, variances, and trends, and communicate findings to management.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain data integrity.

  • Provide mentorship and support to junior accounting staff, ensuring their professional growth and development.

  • Stay up to date with accounting regulations and industry standard methodologies to ensure compliance and implement operational improvements

  • Provide timely responses to business partners or team requests

  • Demonstrate a dedication to operational improvement and quality service

  • Independently review and post team invoices

  • Assist team leader in monitoring accounts against budget expectations

  • Prepare medium to high complexity balance sheet reconciliations and other SOX control documentation.

  • Team backup

  • Lead or support smaller Shared Finance projects and achieve at least one major improvement per year.

  • Review and update process controls and procedures

  • Ensure documentation is in place and consistent execution of processes.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • University/Bachelors’ Degree or Equivalent in Finance, Accounting or Economics

  • 2-3 years of proven experience

  • Strong analytical capabilities

  • Strong partnership collaboration in a virtual/remote environment

  • Outstanding communication and business collaboration skills

  • Proven track record to work with people at all management levels

  • Strong standout colleague

  • Highly computer literate, experience with ERP systems and Microsoft packages.

  • Stress resistance, flexibility and sense of priority to handle tasks and deadlines

  • Ability to handle sophisticated and ambiguous situations

  • Proactivity: ability to look ahead and anticipate
