Manage all environmental control activities. Design, develop and implement methods and procedures to reduce or eliminate harmful effects of manufacturing and production functions on the environment. Review potential new materials for their environmental friendliness. Solicit necessary information on raw materials and respond to customer product stewardship inquiries. Manage Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) compliance. Acquire environmental data and submit required reports to the Local, State and Federal government, and represent the organization before environmental regulatory agencies. Manage the organization’s Quality Management System, including: oversight of the technical portion of the QC test labs, direct supervision of the Quality Support Specialist and ISO 9001 compliance. Accountabilities:1.Manages all aspects of environmental compliance to include monitoring and control.2.Acquire data and submit required reports and permit renewals to Local, State and Federal government in required timeframe. 3.Oversee operation of Wastewater and Raw Water.4.Accumulation, storage and disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste.5.Manage the asbestos compliance program.6.Perform the duties of the Emergency Management Coordinator, TSCA Coordinator, Radiation Safety Contact, Certified Pesticide Applicator, and ELAP Quality Manager. 7.Provide environmental guidance and oversight to other departments as necessary.8.Conduct thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective actions.9.Develop documentation and new test methods as required to support the New Business Development efforts. Train QCI Testers and other Associates as necessary.10.Manage the technical portion of the QC test lab and ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements including: ISO procedure development, equipment purchases, tester audits, and the test equipment calibration program. Manage the test equipment replacement as age and obsolescence dictates.11.Manage mill ISO 9001 compliance, including: ISO procedure development and maintenance, internal audits, internal corrective actions, external audit, and any audit findings12.Updates specifications based on information provided by NBD or Technical leads in PlantApps.13.Manage mill’s compliance with FSC standards, and lead the audit for the mill.14.Support product stewardship efforts by approving new materials and responding to customer product stewardship inquiries.15.Provide back up as appropriate and complete special projects assigned.Benefits: Medical/Prescription, Dental, Vision, 401(k) & Matching, Generous PTO, Life, LTD
