HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT:

As a Production Supervisor, you will lead manufacturing operations, including the coordination of delivery and cost activities for the assigned department or shift to meet department schedules and targets. You are responsible for safety, quality, and performance for Team Members in the assigned department or shift. As a Production Supervisor, you improve systems utilized to achieve department and plant goals and contribute to long-term planning and development.

THE DETAILS:

  • Select and train employees to meet cost, quality, delivery, safety, and environmental standards

  • Supervise assigned employees including timecard oversight, performance management, coaching, counseling and development

  • Financial management in support of the department budget

  • Monitor systems to assure outgoing quality meets standards

  • Responsible for ensuring production to schedule utilizing assigned personal and equipment

  • Manage labor costs and supply expenses

  • Ensure department operates in accordance with safety, health and environmental standards

  • Support continuous improvement efforts including problem solving activities

  • Apply quality and lean principles

  • Manage overall equipment effectiveness including maintenance

  • Develop and implement 3-5-year plans for assigned department and product line

  • Participate in plant safety committee, evacuations, and emergency response

  • Participates in supervisory development

  • Maintain open communication through conversation and both formal and informal documents

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in high volume manufacturing environment

  • Prior leadership role in a production/manufacturing environment, including scheduling, workflow, and independent decision making in a multiple shift operation

  • Demonstrated skills in Lean, Continuous Improvement, and 6S Initiatives

  • Understanding of production processes, scheduling, and workflow

  • Heat treat process experience a plus

  • Understanding of budgets, including tracking actual to budget and basic corrective action

  • Demonstrated accountability and ownership of team and department performance

  • Self-starter with the ability to make quick decisions with limited data

  • Demonstrated leadership and team facilitation

  • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner

  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms

  • Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are globally dispersed

  • Set a good example of personal integrity

  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve. skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes

  • Take initiative, seek and act on opportunities to improve organization performance

  • Ability to translate specific goals into action and follow through to achieve goals

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data management software (SAP preferred)

  • You do not need to posses 100% of these qualities to be considered
