Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform preventive maintenance activities, emergency breakdown maintenance, and various installations and repairs. This role requires expertise in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems. The Maintenance Electrician will work in a dynamic environment, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components, and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels.

  • Perform emergency/breakdown maintenance as necessary to support plant operations.

  • Accurately use measurement and test equipment.

  • Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed.

  • Install wire and conduit for new and existing equipment such as conveyors, programmable controllers, converting and corrugating machinery.

  • Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices such as proximity switches, timers, scanners, and photoelectric devices.

  • Diagnose and repair/replace faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards.

  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

  • Troubleshoot drives, including AC and DC.

  • Read electrical block diagrams, schematics, and PLC ladder logic.

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and cleanup work areas as part of completing assigned tasks.

  • Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork.

Essential Skills

  • LME/PJ/General Journeyman Electrician License

  • Strong electrical aptitude

  • Mechanical knowledge and experience

  • Ability to pass an advanced industrial skills and instrumentation/electrician knowledge test

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated and able to follow through to completion with assigned responsibilities

  • Teamwork and collaboration skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Welding experience

  • Metal fabrication experience (training available)

Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial plant environment with a large facility that includes office spaces and a production floor with many machines and production lines. It can be loud at times with forklifts driving around, but it is a clean and orderly facility. The shift schedule includes swing shifts from 3 pm to 11 pm and night shifts from 11 pm to 7 am, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

This is a Permanent position based out of Portland, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $92123.20 - $99403.20/yr.
