Stryker Corporation R&D Senior Staff Electrical Engineer in Portage, Michigan

Stryker Corporation seeks R&D Senior Staff Electrical Engineer in Portage, MI to work closely with manufacturing and other cross functional partners to support day to day manufacturing including line down issues, service parts, manufacturing transfers and supplier-initiated change requests (SICRs). Support Quality & Service teams for analysis of customer complaints related to product failures and provide solutions to resolve the same. Work on engineering change orders (ECOs) and own the design change from root cause analysis to implementation. Work with cross functional team members to analyze the problem, propose solutions, prototype design, arrange parts/samples by working directly with suppliers, plan and conduct testing, arrange team collaboration meetings, and present to change approval board for design approval and implementation. Design circuits including Schematic Capture, Layout and Failure Mode Analysis for PCBAs, cables and other electromechanical components. Analyze and test for electromagnetic compliance (EMI/EMC), reliability, safety, cost and design for manufacturing, assembly, and testing. Work with electrical tools like DMM, oscilloscope and product specific test fixtures. Conduct and design advanced prototyping and testing. Conduct advanced problem solving, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against component and sub-system requirements. Translate user needs to design inputs/specifications and produce advanced component and sub-system level designs. Analyze and correct complex product design issues, using independent judgment. Independently balance design tradeoffs while designing a component of the system. Remote work up to 2 days per week.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus six years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or related occupation designing, developing, testing, and sustaining embedded electronics subsystems in a regulated industry or, alternatively, a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and four years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or related occupation designing, developing, testing, and sustaining embedded electronics subsystems in a regulated industry, including at least . Specific skills/other requirements - Demonstrated expertise (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Designing and troubleshooting microcontroller and microprocessor based electronic boards.
