Community Health Systems Supply Chain Analyst/Inventory Coordinator in Poplar Bluff, Missouri

Job Summary

The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory levels to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the facility. This role involves monitoring stock, placing orders, receiving shipments, and coordinating with various departments to ensure the availability of supplies and equipment. The Inventory Coordinator plays a vital role in optimizing inventory control processes and maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Monitors inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of supplies, materials, and equipment, while avoiding overstocking or shortages.

  • Places orders with approved vendors, tracks shipments, and verifies receipt of goods to ensure accuracy and quality.

  • Maintains accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and usage, using inventory management systems.

  • Conducts regular inventory audits to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies, investigating and resolving issues as needed.

  • Collaborates with department leaders to forecast inventory needs based on usage trends and upcoming requirements.

  • Ensures proper storage and organization of inventory items, adhering to safety, cleanliness, and regulatory standards.

  • Coordinates the return of damaged or defective items to vendors and ensures timely replacements or credits.

  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of inventory control policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Generates and reviews inventory reports to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required

  • 1-3 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or a related field required

  • Experience in a hospital environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and practices.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments and vendors.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
