The Opportunity

The Engineer will perform quality oversight on purchased products to ensure conformance to specification(s).  The individual will work in a team environment and perform on-site supplier audits (certification to WI processes, production verifications, failure investigations, procurement issues).

Additionally, the Engineer will:

  • Manage supplier failure investigations and corrective actions.
  • Monitor supplier performance relative to quality and delivery.
  • Assist Supply Chain Management in selection (or deselection) of suppliers.
  • Work with Supply Chain / Manufacturing to assist with receiving and inspection.
  • Review / approve supplier part / process documentation.  Including but not limited to FAIRs, PPAP and Vendor Change requests.
  • Auditing of suppliers (and internal) processes and documentation.
  • Support the preferred supplier program, part and supplier certification efforts.
  • Develops and maintains various PC computer databases, records, and spreadsheets for statistical and status reporting as required.
  • Accumulates statistical data and creates/updates statistical charts and graphs using Microsoft Office products.
  • Assists quality audit group as needed.  This may involve support of 3rd party audits of WI QMS system and various internal auditing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality or Engineering
  • Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Readings (GD&T) and how to read drawing notes
  • 0 - 10 years' experience with supplier quality audit or supply chain management and familiarity with PPAP
  • Must have good people skills as they are representatives of WI dealing with both the supply base and potentially with WI OEM customers
  • Must be willing to travel an average of 25% of the time with some trips taking place on short notice
  • U. S. Citizenship status required
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S.
