POSITION PURPOSE

To assist production supervisor with scheduling, coordinating daily activities, relief duties, new employee training, and data collection and verification. By assisting the production supervisor in overseeing production activities, this position will provide support in providing a consistent, quality product, and customer satisfaction. This employee will help to foster compliance with all GMP and safety programs and policies to support the making of quality product and developing a positive work environment for all employees.

1. Actively involved in the attainment of all operational goals to provide the best possible conversion cost to our customers.

2. Oversee the application of all quality goals to ensure product quality and food safety standards are met to reduce/eliminate risk to the organization

3. Work hand in hand with safety department to identify and evaluate potential risks and ensure the protection of the employees and other individuals while minimizing the organizations exposure to loss and liability.

4. Assist with employee training and building overall line depth

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has moderate supervisory responsibilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization\'s policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

VERBAL/WRITTEN SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and organize concepts on paper. Ability to speak effectively to employees of organization.

INFORMATION SYSTEM SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Basic understanding of computer hardware and Microsoft Windows environments. Ability to use phone to make, answer, hold, and transfer calls and use voice mail. Ability to learn routine and job specific and computer commands and functions. Ability to demonstrate basic computer abilities including storage and retrieval of data, basic word processing and spreadsheet usage skills and use of e-mail.

REASONING/DECISION MAKING SKILLS

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use initiative to recognize problems and suggest possible solutions. Must seek approval of supervisor before implementing solution.
