What you’ll be doing

To create and maintain momentum for the core business of building strong partnerships with Investment Advisors, this role will act in an Investment Advisor recruiting capacity for the province of Quebec. The Executive Director, Business Development is responsible for finding seasoned and high-quality Investment Advisors with a cultural fit looking to join CIBC Wood Gundy, coaching Investment Advisors for complex client needs, building internal capability, leading and driving various Business Development initiatives and monitoring market developments. The focus is to act as an ambassador of the company and to generate new revenue and meet asset targets through managing a structured business development process from concept to warm introduction. This position works in collaboration with the Regional Director and Branch Managers (local leadership) to generate new opportunities while supporting the growth in Quebec.

How you’ll succeed

  • Relationship Building- Develop strong relationships with Branch Managers & Executive Directors throughout the Regions. Build out complete competitive talent Pipeline & actively engage with this pipeline. Promote CIBC Private Wealth Management and CIBC Wood Gundy’s culture, value proposition and strong partnership with Investment Advisors.

  • Business Development- Co-ordinate national and local solicitation campaigns and increased brand awareness, particularly through a digital strategy and platforms. Lead and drive various Business Development initiatives and projects, in partnership with the Regional Director. Maintain market intelligence to identify opportunities, recommend action plans and drive implementation.

  • Prospecting- Maintain prospect pipeline in a CRM and identify opportunities through new or existing partnerships. Leverage network to build business through value-proposition knowledge, prospecting, lead generation and industry and competitive data.

  • Leadership- Provide coaching to Investment Advisors for complex client needs. Cross-promote other CIBC division expertise, services and experience as applicable and valuable to Investment Advisors. Work effectively with peers and team in order to achieve common goals and targets.

  • Compliance requirements- Acquire and maintain superior knowledge of CIBC Private Wealth Management and CIBC Wood Gundy’s offering and services. As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls.
