Honeywell Controls Systems Engineering Manager in Plymouth, Minnesota

As the Controls Systems Manager, you will lead a team of highly skilled software and controls engineers through complex developments and technology maturation. You will impact the system designs, strategy, and execution, as well as the performance and career progression of the Controls team. You will report directly to our Director of System Development and work on-site at either our Broomfield, CO or Plymouth, MN site. This is not a hybrid or remote position.

ROLE:

  • Managing a team of controls engineers that are specialized in PLC controls, industrial automation, distributed control systems, cybersecurity, and Human Machine Interface

  • Hiring, assigning work, monitoring team member performance, writing and delivering performance reviews, mentoring team members, developing training plans, and managing career development

  • Supporting the maturation of a growing organization by leading the development of standardized processes and templates and attracting critical talent

  • Collaborating with program management, technical personnel, functional leadership and support organizations to drive the successful delivery of highly specialized systems

  • Ensuring the application of engineering best practices for a wide variety of projects from R&D to Manufacturing

  • Understanding the complex interactions between the business and technical requirements of a project so that you can provide guidance to the execution team and recommendations to the program manager when conflicts arise

  • Interacting with internal and external customers to identify future business opportunities

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • Minimum 10 years of technical leadership experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required due to contractual requirements. Applicants must also be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of security processing

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

WE VALUE:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 15+ years of experience in engineering, research & development, manufacturing, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience managing personnel

  • Experience with Control Edge, Experion, and Python

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage successful teams and projects in a fast-paced environment with often ambiguous requirements

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • The annual base salary or/ hourly pay range for this position is <$150,000 - $187,000>. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

  • This position is incentive plan eligible.
