Sr. Program Engineer-Light Truck/Leaf wanted in Plymouth, Michigan to obtain program milestones from the customer engineering and communicate these milestones to Rassini, ensuring the timely launch of the product. It is important to relay the customer prototype requirements to the product engineering and manufacturing facility. Establishing delivery timing and updating the customer website with commitment dates are critical steps. Issue meeting minutes in a timely manner to the organization, which includes the commercial manager and product engineering, and follow up on action items with responsible parties. Ensure the Commercial Team is provided with timely information regarding the customer RFQ, ECNs, SORs, VA/VE, Proof of Concept, EWOs, and any other product, tooling, or manufacturing potential cost changes. Establish requirements and completion dates with the customer engineering for DV and PV testing. Communicate these requirements to product engineering and review the completed DVP&R prior to submission to the customer. Additionally, maintain a current part number list and part number change history for each customer program. Communicate the customer design requirements to Rassini product engineering via design input form, load deflection chart, etc. Review and approve design proposals from the product engineering before submitting them to the customer engineering. Submit CAD requests to product engineering, review prints/math data for accuracy, and submit these to the customer before the specified due date. Review prototype test data prior to submission to the customer engineering, which often involves rearranging the data into a format acceptable to the customer. Work with Rassini quality group to establish PPAP dates, communicate these dates to the customer change coordinator, and ensure timely submission of PPAP, which involves obtaining validation sign-off from the customer engineering. Ensure compliance with ISO/TS16949 standards, particularly for RFQ, CAD, Prototype, and PSR requirements. Provide technical support to the customer and Rassini engineering on a daily basis through various means such as phone, email, and face-to-face meetings; Design and develop process conditions for automotive leaf spring manufacturing for specific designs; develop machine parameters, temperature conditions and tooling set-up, based on process guidelines for material stress levels including metallurgical and chemical features, established for leaf springs; conduct mechanical and chemical characteristic analysis, compressive residual stress analysis and thermocouple system; interpret Finite Element Analysis for automotive suspension leaf springs including for durability and proper assembly in the full vehicle system and validation of Windup, Lateral Stiffness, Angle Change; conduct metallurgical and mechanical failure analysis interpretation after testing for any material, chemical or dimensional; prepare 2D and 3D CAD interpretation for customer specific standards and requirements.
