As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the Paxit automated Packaging and Dispensing equipment, the fulfillment of Bulk Prescriptions, and the staging of all finished items for shipment to our customers. The staging process occurs between 10pm and midnight, which is when delivery trucks arrive to pick up the bins. This role also involves assisting other areas within the facility as needed with regards to pharmacy operations. You will be on your feet for the majority of the shift, rotating weekends, and having days off during the week. You will be expected to meet production metrics and should be comfortable working in a production-based environment.
Responsibilities
Operate the Paxit automated Packaging and Dispensing equipment.
Fulfill bulk prescriptions and stage finished items for shipment.
Assist in other areas of the pharmacy as needed.
Handle manual compounding for specialty prescriptions.
Stock general medical products such as topicals and bandages.
Move individual bins to the staging area for courier pickup.
Meet production metrics and work in a production-based environment.
Essential Skills
High School graduate or equivalent.
Current State Pharmacy Certification (Michigan License or temporary license accepted).
Basic computer knowledge.
Understanding of medical terminology.
Math and analytical skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy.
Familiarity with drug codes and drug handling.
Fulfillment or compounding experience.
Pharmacy technician certification.
Work Environment
This position is based in a fulfilment pharmacy located at the back of the building. The facility operates as a closed-door long-term care pharmacy, fulfilling scripts for many long-term care and nursing facilities. The work environment is clean and quiet, with about 50 people working across three shifts. The pace is moderate, and assistance is always available if needed. The majority of the needs are on the second shift (5pm-1:30am), with some third shift positions (10pm-6:30am). The facility operates 24/7/365, and you will rotate working weekends and holidays. A shift premium is offered for second and third shifts, with an additional premium for weekends.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
