Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling lives. You will work closely with clients in their residence ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect. Looking for staff for PRN (when every necessary).
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication management.
- Implement and follow individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life.
- Facilitate social interactions and community engagement for clients.
- Assist with heavy lifting and mobility support as needed.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients.
- Document daily activities and any changes in client behavior or health status.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Stay informed about the best practices in caregiving and attend training sessions as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License (may be required).
- Ability to Pass Background Checks.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Strong skills in meal preparation and nutrition awareness.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility.
- Compassionate nature with a strong commitment to providing quality care.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
