Job Title: Truss Assembler

Job Description

Join a dynamic team for a 4-6 week project as a Truss Assembler, where you'll play a crucial role in manufacturing residential and commercial trusses. This opportunity offers potential roles as a Catcher, Builder, or the person, with a primary focus on builders (assemblers).

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wood trusses according to blueprints displayed on a screen.

  • Set up a jig with robotic pins for precise placement of pre-cut wood.

  • Tack plates and use a roller to flatten wood and plates, completing the product.

  • Read a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch accurately.

  • Utilize a hammer and pneumatic staple gun for assembly tasks.

  • Stand trusses upright in the yard and coordinate with forklift operators.

  • Work with saw operators to catch, check, stack, and label cut wood.

  • Use a carpenter square to check angles and ensure accuracy.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure.

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in general labor, manufacturing, production, carpentry, or construction.

  • Score 80% on Basic Industrial Math and Tape Measure test.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in rough carpentry, woodwork, and framing.

  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.

  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and mechanical assembly.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasantville, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.77 - $22.77/hr.
