Job Title: Truss Assembler
Job Description
Join a leading manufacturer of residential and commercial trusses for an exciting 4-6 week project. Candidates will be hired for three potential roles: Catcher, Builder, or Assistant. The majority of the positions will be for builders (assemblers).
Responsibilities
Builder: Assemble wood trusses according to a blueprint displayed on a screen.
Set up a jig with robotic pins to place pre-cut wood correctly.
Tack the plates and use a roller to fully flatten all the wood and plates.
Read a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch and use a hammer and pneumatic staple gun.
Assistant: Stand completed trusses upright in the yard and possibly work with a forklift operator.
Catcher: Work with the saw operator to catch wood off the machine once cut to proper measurements.
Read a carpenter square to check angles and stack and label the wood on a pallet.
Essential Skills
Ability to lift 50lbs
Ability to read a tape measure
6+ months of experience in general labor, manufacturing, production, carpentry, or construction
Must score 80% on Basic Industrial Math and Tape Measure test
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly
Experience in rough carpentry, construction, house building, and woodwork
Ability to work with trusses, wood framing, and finish carpentry

Work Environment
Shifts will have a 30-minute unpaid lunch and a paid 15-minute break. The work environment may be hot in the summer with open doors for breeze and heated in the winter. The dress code includes jeans, shorts, T-shirt, and steel-toed shoes. Employees need to supply their own framing hammer, hammer holder/holster, and tape measure. Occasional Saturdays may be required during busy periods.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasantville, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.77 - $22.77/hr.
