Project Manager- Genetic Sciences (Pleasanton, CA)

Shift: M-F, 8-5 (may have some meetings outside of these hours)

Remote Capability: Must be local as this role will eventually need to be onsite 2-3 days/week

Pay Rate: $60-70/hr DOE

The project manager will work remotely (from home) initially and be available to work on-site in Pleasanton, CA or other nearby Bay Area locations for about 2 to 3 days/week of each week when the company location/site opens for employees to return to work

We are looking for a Project Manager to help plan and execute new product development and sustaining projects and programs. The business develops and builds research instruments, applications software and related reagents and consumables.. This position will work closely with senior team members and business partners to plan and execute projects and programs using our stage-gate or iterative processes to deliver to the agreed scope, schedule, and budget, while managing execution, risks, trade-offs, expectations, and communications.

What will you do?

  • You’ll lead programs and projects, negotiating trade-offs, determining and committing to the right scope, schedule, and budget to deliver winning business results

  • You’ll drive and track all day-to-day project work, making sure that problems are rapidly identified and resolved, applying state-of-the-art project management tools and techniques to deliver on commitments and in some instances adhere to specific regulatory requirements

  • You’ll manage project communications including associated project documentation approvals and conduct phase approval reviews, providing clear and concise written and verbal communication to all levels of the project team and stakeholders, and tailoring style to a broad range of audiences and situations

Education, Experience and Capabilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or related field required

  • 8+ years of life science or analytical/medical product development including 3+ years of technical project management experience required; experience with genetic analysis technologies and analytical instrumentation, software and consumables preferred.

  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Fast learner and self-motivated individual

  • Experience using Microsoft Office software tools and online project management and document management tools. Preferred: experience with using MS Project for scheduling and managing projects.
