Job Description

Bosch Rexroth is seeking a self-motivated individual for a Field Service Technician located in our West Regional Technical Center in Pleasanton, CA. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for performing installation, maintenance and after sale service on Bosch Rexroth Assembly Technologies transport conveyors primarily for customers in the West and Southwest regions of the US. The Field Service Technician will also work closely with the West Coast Engineering Team to provide support for assembly of sales demo, test stands, prototypes etc. needed to support projects and sales growth. The position will report to the Engineering Supervisor in the West Regional Technical Center.

  • Responsible for providing exceptional customer support to our internal and external customers.

  • Provide in-house and in-field technical assistance to customers in the identification and order placement of paid service and/or spare parts in support of installed Bosch Rexroth products.

  • Provide field service, repairs, replacement and installation services of Bosch Rexroth products and components for customers.

  • As a representative of Bosch Rexroth, communicate professionally and effectively with customers, employees of the Bosch group, and/or sub-contractors, in an occasionally stressful environment. Work overtime as necessary to complete project.

  • Troubleshoot customer concerns, both on-site and over the telephone or emails.

  • Perform in-house service repair of Bosch Rexroth products or components.

  • Facilitate and participate in customer maintenance training, both in-house and/or on-site at customer locations.

  • Actively support and participate in the selling effort of field service, spare parts, and paid training services.

  • Determine and recommend suitable service parts for customer installations.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment and continuously improve processes and deliver conforming quality products and services to internal and external customers per the Bosch Rexroth Quality system.

  • Prepare detailed field service reports on computer. Reports will include daily records of work performed, materials used, hours worked, expense account items, etc.

Travel Expectation: Up to 75% travel during the work week, including occasional weekends and holidays to cover the West and Southwest regions of the US.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical/electrical field service work, supporting automated systems/machines.

  • 3+ years of computer system knowledge in Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Hold a valid driver's license.

  • Qualified to travel internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years technical training.

  • Experience with Bosch Rexroth transport conveyor products and applications or commensurate related experience with similar equipment.

  • SAP experience.

  • Sound interpersonal communication (both written and verbal) skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in teams.

Additional Information

This position will have a salary range of $32.00 - $40.00 per hour. In addition to the base rate, the position will have an annual bonus potential of 0% - 6% of annual salary based upon company performance. This position is benefits eligible which includes medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, life insurance and other company offered benefits including a retirement plan which includes 401(k) company match and a defined contribution.
